Happy hump day! As any savvy marketer knows, consistent marketing and effective marketing are one in the same. Perhaps no one knows this better than Lisa Frank, the woman behind the iconic Lisa Frank brand. The brand is known for its animal-themed artwork (from pandas to tigers to dolphins) displayed in bright, neon colors. Every girl who grew up in the 90’s would be lying if she said she didn’t own at least one Lisa Frank spiral notebook.

The company is just shy of celebrating 40 years in business (Frank founded the company in 1979 at the age of 24). In a recent interview, Frank elaborated on how important consistent marketing was for her brand, especially amid strong opposition of her unique vision.

“Our look has really been consistent for 30 years,” Frank said in the interview. “and people tried to tell me, “Bright colors aren’t in, you should do pastels.” And that’s not who I am.”

It’s refreshing to get an inside look at Frank’s quirky, colorful world, and to be reminded that consistent marketing is key for successfully building and sustaining one’s brand.
